Crowns and Veneers

As long as your teeth are not structurally damaged, crooked teeth, poorly aligned teeth, and discolored teeth can be corrected using porcelain facing, porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are thin laminate layers of porcelain applied to the tooth.

When teeth are badly damaged, crowns can be used to reinforce and rebuild the teeth. We work closely with experienced lab technicians to fabricate your cosmetic crowns in just 5 days.

When there are missing teeth, dental implants, bridges, or removable appliances will be used to replace them in the most aesthetic way and will provide complete and total comfort in your everyday life.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility.

Porcelain veneers are considered cosmetic dentistry. Bonding custom veneers requires a high degree of technical skill as well as attention to cosmetic detail. We place porcelain veneers routinely and design each individually to match and enhance the characteristics of each patient’s smile.

Strength and Appearance

When the porcelain veneer is bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain is virtually undetectable and highly resistant to the staining effects of coffee, tea, red wine, and even cigarettes. Their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options. With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for well over a decade.

Bonding and Care

Dr. Shirin, the Thousand Oaks dentist that will be performing the bonding of the porcelain veneers, will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available. Refraining from using your “new teeth” as tools to open and cut things will prolong their life. If accidental breakage or damage occurs, it is usually possible to replace only the affected veneers on the teeth.

Dental / Tooth Implants

A dental implant is the best option in replacing a missing tooth or missing teeth. Dental implants are also used for teeth that can’t be maintained with a reliable and routine dental treatment.

A tooth implant is an artificial tooth root or shaft, made of titanium that is surgically implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection or bond with the titanium shaft. Medically, this is referred to as osseointegration. This process slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing and also creates a strong foundation for porcelain teeth. Osseointegration can also be used to stabilize your dentures.

Replacement Tooth

Once the dental implant sets in your mouth, Dr. Shirin, your Thousand Oaks dentist, attaches the replacement tooth onto the top of the dental implant(s) that protrude through the gums. These implant (posts) will support the replacement teeth. Dental implants can be used to replace a single lost tooth or many missing teeth. Implants also help preserve facial structure by preventing bone deterioration, which can occur when many teeth are missing.

Dental Implant Advantages

Dental Implants are a permanent solution and have advantages over bridgework.  They do not stress the surrounding teeth for support. Should the tooth wear out, another implant can simply be replaced on the shaft.
